Take a journey from Exuma to Long Island to visit 2 of the Wonders of The Bahamas - an absolute must for any visitor to Long Island.

Departing from Exuma - George Town Government dock at 9:15 am*, this full day adventure starts with a stunning 1.5 hour ferry ride through some of the clearest and bluest waters on the planet before docking at Long Island Harbour Club and commencing the ground portion of the adventure that will take you to two of the Wonders of the Bahamas - Hamilton's Cave and Dean's Blue Hole. Returning from Long Island mid afternoon allows for a stop at the famous Sandy Cay of "Pirates of the Caribbean" fame on the return.

Sheep Runner Ferry - 1.5 hrs

Met at the dock by your Captain, Rodger Fox, commence your adventure in comfort with a 1.5 hour ride on the Sheep Runner Ferry through the amazing waters connecting the islands of Exuma and Long Island. Seating 26 passengers, the Sheep Runner ferry is 36' long with Yamaha twin 300 hp engines and comes with all the comforts and safety measures both needed and wanted - (including a toilet).

Captain Rodger Fox has over 30 years of commercial fishing experience throughout The Bahamas and will ensure both your safety and comfort are his highest priorities while on board.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a ferry that crosses some open water. There will be the natural motion of the boat. The Captain will be insisting that all passengers remain seated whilst underway. Hats will fly!

There are a few steps to get down to board the boat. If you have any mobility issues, please notify our staff at time of booking.

WHAT TO BRING

Even in balmy temperatures of the Bahamas, it is wise to bring an extra layer incase you feel the cold.

If boat engine noise bothers you, you may wish to bring a pair of ear plugs.

This is a fabulous journey to put on some headphones and listen to your favourite music as you gaze out over the water.

Hamilton's Cave - 45 minutes

After docking at Long Island Harbour Club and freshening up, Omar will take you by bus the approximate 40 minutes to get you to the entrance of the cave system. Being guided by Mr Leonard Cartwright, the proud owner of Hamilton's Cave, take a step back in time as you imagine the formation of the largest cave system in The Bahamas an estimated 15,000 years ago. One of the Wonders of The Bahamas, and home to all 5 species of bats found in the Bahamas.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Starting at the entrance to the cave, there are several uneven steps and sloping terrain throughout the cave. Battery operated lights are provided for you as you enter. The guided tour takes about 30 minutes.

The cave is predominantly dark although the areas that you will bemostly be in do have areas of natural sunlight. The ceiling of the cave where you will visit exceeds 9 ft.

WHAT TO BRING

Comfortable walking shoes with solid tread appropriate for uneven and poorly lit ground

Bug Spray

The entrance to the cave system can be quite bug ridden - especially mosquitoes.

An extra layer is always recommended if you feel the cold.

Dean's Blue Hole - 1 hr

Just 15 minutes drive south of the caves lies the second deepest blue hole on the planet at 663 ft deep - the deepest land accessible blue hole and the epicenter of the world of free diving. Site of Vertical Blue the pinnacle of international free diving events, where the legends of the planet come to compete to push themselves to the edge of human capacity. As another of the Wonders of The Bahamas, it is also featured in the free diving Netflix movie "the Deepest Breath".

WHAT TO EXPECT

To kick back and relax on the beach. Whether you choose to walk to the end of the beach, read a book, snorkel or practice your own version of free diving, Dean's Blue Hole is as scenic as it is amazing - it is also completely natural and there are no facilities at the site.

Snorkel equipment (mask and snorkel) is provided to guests as wanted.

A picnic lunch including a glass of Rum Punch (containing alcohol for guests over the age of 18), will be provided here. Option of a soda for those not wishing to avail of the Rum Punch.

Sandy Cay - 45 minutes

Weather permitting, stopping on your return to George Town; Sandy Cay allows every guest the opportunity so simply be "wowed". The location of some of the most beloved scenes in 'Pirates of the Caribbean', Sandy Cay is also world renowned for its natural beauty. Featuring Instagram famous white powder sand bar with impossibly clear turquoise waters of every shade, Sandy Cay also has resident osprey nest and incredibly colorful iguanas.

WHAT TO EXPECT

To be wowed by nature.... and to be begged for a piece of fruit by the iguanas.

A snack will be provided here to all guests including an alcoholic beverage for those wishing one - or a soda.... and included in that is a piece of fruit - just incase you find that iguana you wish to impress. Please do not try to feed the iguanas by hand.
